The Flame to my Soul

I decided to let Aruna lead today. Not because I needed a change, but because I wasn't feeling well. At least, that's what I told her.

What really was bothering me was a vision I had this morning. I had woken up on the guild floor, between Aruna's and my own bed. Confused and tired, I looked out the window. Still dark. While rubbing my eyes, I felt something press on my other paw and a familiar, crippling headache tore though my head. The sudden vision that followed was even worse.

The whole area was violently shaking violently. Rocks were raining from the ceiling. Pokemon of all types running from the cave in. There was one in thing particular that made my heart sink. Aruna was on the floor, eyes clamped shut. Boulders falling all around her.

"Jarrett!!"


As quickly the the nightmarish daydream began, it ended. I sat up and pulled my paw back from under Aruna's head. As cute as using my paw as a pillow was, I didn't want another dizzy spell. It was too much for me as I was shaking in fear. I returned to my bed, praying to Arceus that the vision was from a past adventure I had forgotten about.


So here I am now, following her though upper steam cave. Fighting with myself to either ask her about my dizzy spell or let it go and hope that earthquakes in Steam cave were uncommon.

Maybe it was my imagination. Not so much as a vibration occurred before we reached Fogbound Lake. Doesn't matter the situation, doesn't matter if your having a nervous breakdown, like me, this lake is amazing.

I don't know what compiled me.. but I stepped forward to the small peninsula tip and waved for Aruna to join me. As she sat down, I felt a rumble and hugged Aura as tightly as I could, fearing my vision was coming true. Even if the nearest overhead rock was several feet behind us. I couldn't help it. It felt like this was the last time I would see her.

She was caught off guard by my embrace, but oddly, she showed no signs of pushing me off. In fact, I felt her lick the side of my face. A kiss.

The shaking stopped and Aruna told me to look up. I didn't want to let go, but I lifted my head from her neck and glanced at the lake with moist eyes.

The large pillar of water colored by the time gear was breathtaking. Standing up, I took the sight in. The feeling of warmth crept though my tail. Looking back, I saw Aruna had moved closer and her tails were curling my single one. Blushing, I wrapped my arm around her. She countered with a nuzzle into my side.

I knew from that point on. Cave-in or not, No matter what the future held in store for us, we'd always pull through.  As Team Alma Flame, Best of friends, Together.
